St. Thomas Civics Club

Empowered by faith, and guided by family, we, the St. Thomas Junior High Civics Club, cultivate informed and active citizens who engage in the world with compassion, critical thinking, and a commitment to the common good.
We affirm our school's motto, "Where Faith and Family Matter," by being:
  • Rooted in Faith: Recognizing that our Catholic values form the foundation of our civic engagement, we build upon principles of social justice, human dignity, and service to others.
  • Grounded in Family: Learning the importance of responsible citizenship begins in our families and communities. We foster collaboration and civic-mindedness by involving families in our endeavors.
  • Informed by Knowledge: We delve into civic processes, government structures, and current issues, developing critical thinking skills to analyze and propose solutions.
  • Active in Engagement: We step beyond theoretical knowledge, taking action through service projects, advocacy, and participation in local governance.
  • Compassionate Leaders: We cultivate empathy and understanding, recognizing the diverse perspectives within our community and striving for just and inclusive solutions.
Through our endeavors, we aspire to become:
  • Faithful stewards of democracy: Committed to upholding the values and principles of a just and equitable society.
  • Informed advocates for change: Empowered to speak up for what is right in our community and the world.
  • Compassionate leaders: Building bridges, fostering dialogue, and working towards a better future for all.
We, the St. Thomas Junior High Civics Club, join hands as a family of faith, embracing our civic responsibility to build a brighter tomorrow, where faith and family continue to matter.
