Scrip is a program through which you can order gift cards from hundreds of stores and restaurants. Cards are purchased for their face value, but the school receives a donation from the business for each card. That means the cards cost the purchaser nothing extra, but the school makes money. To print an order form and to see a list of some stores and restaurants in the program, click on the Scrip Order Form link at the top of this page. For the entire list, click on the GLScrip.com link or go online to www.glscrip.com. We have a number of cards available for purchase at all times in the school office. Cards are also available at Masses, ballgames, and bingo.
With school starting, we're back on our regular Scrip schedule. Orders are placed Tuesday morning by 9:00 a.m. and the cards arrive on Friday.
St. Thomas School conducts a variety of fundraisers to help with the expense of operating a school. Our goal is to keep the cost of tuition as low as possible. These fundraisers are vital for that reason.
Bingo is held at 7:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month during the school year in the Parish Center. Refreshments are available.
We collect the following items: Box Tops for Education, Campbell's Soup labels, used ink cartridges, old cell phones, and aluminum cans. Paper drives are held throughout the year.
The biggest fundraiser is the Soup Supper for the Booster Club organization. The Soup Supper is held the Sunday prior to Ash Wednesday. This year it will be on February 19, 2012. This event is a huge carnival and soup meal.
Our next largest fundraiser is working a concession booth at the Rams games and other events at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. Our first game this year is September 11. We are always in need of adult volunteers to work a game. We ask each parent to work ONE game during the school year. You can call the school office to sign up for a training date. Training is sometimes provided in our Parish Center. All other trainings are in St. Louis. You must be trained each year.
The Gigantic Garage Sale is held twice a year (fall and spring). The money made from the garage sale is used for technology. We also have Longaberger Basket Bingo Night two times during the school year.
We hold a breakfast annually in November. This year it will be held on either the 14th or the 21st.
The 7th and 8th graders sell fruit each year in November. The profit made from this goes toward their class trip to Space Camp. The 7th and 8th graders also hold fish fries throughout the fall and winter to help fund their trip.
